On Tuesday, the final day of the first international break of 2025, there were plenty of games for Borussia Dortmund's international players. Let's take a look at how they got on, individually and collectively.

How Borussia Dortmund players in action faired on Tuesday

To begin, Serhou Guirassy was in African World Cup qualifying action for Guinea, as they faced Uganda away from home. It would prove to be another disappointing game for his side, as they were condemned to a 1-0 defeat. Guirassy played the whole 90 minutes.

This leaves Guinea all the way down in fifth in their qualification group, with seven points from five games. They are five points off a play off spot, with two games left - meaning their World Cup hopes are all but over.

In the same group, Remy Bensebaini started for Algeria, this time at left back, as they hosted Mozambique. In contrast to Guirassy's side, it was another enjoyable day, as they came out 5-1 winners against the side second in the group.

With this victory, they are now three points above Mozambique at the top of the group, with superior goal difference. So, one victory in their final two qualifiers essentially guarantees their place at the World Cup for the first time since 2014.

Meanwhile, in Europe, Julian Ryerson started for Norway in their World Cup qualifier against Israel. His side would make it two wins from two in this break to get their campaign off to a great start, with a 4-2 victory here. They are top of their group with six points from two games.

Finally, Gregor Kobel was given some rest, as Switzerland defeated Luxembourg 3-1 in a friendly. The international break is now over for every Borussia Dortmund player. BVB host Mainz this Sunday in the Westfalenstadion.
