Lazio winger Gustav Isaksen has made a timely return to training just 48 hours ahead of the crucial tilt against Inter Milan.
The Dane missed training on Wednesday and Thursday due to a muscle problem, so many feared he could be forced to skip Sunday’s big showdown at San Siro. That would have left Marco Baroni with a depleted wing department, as Mattia Zaccagni won’t take part in the contest due to a suspension.
But according to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Isaksen resumed training as normal on Friday, so he’s now back in the running for a starting berth. The 23-year-old will be hoping to regain his optimal condition as soon as possible, otherwise, Baroni might have to resort to alternative options.
As the source explains, Pedro is an option to start on either flank, depending on where his services will be required. If Isaksen doesn’t prove his fitness, the Spanish veteran could be unleashed on the right wing, with one between Tijjani Noslin and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru taking the left flank.

On the other hand, if the Denmark international is given the all-clear to start, Pedro would replace Zaccagni on the left. Moreover, Taty Castellanos and Boulaye Dia are almost assured of their starting berths upfront, and the same goes for the midfield duo of Nicolo Rovella and Matteo Guendouzi.
The source also reveals that Samuel Gigot, Ivan Provedel and Manuel Lazzari have all missed Friday’s training session for unknown reasons, so their availabilities remain uncertain. As for Nuno Tavares, he has recently rejoined his teammates at Formello, so it remains to be seen if he’ll be fit enough to challenge for a starting berth.
