Bologna defender Sam Beukema is at the top of Inter Milan’s list of targets to bolster their backline next summer.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report that there are seven defenders from Serie A who the Nerazzurri are considering as potential targets.
One thing that seems certain is that Inter will sign a defender next summer.
The Nerazzurri are currently relying on Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij for the central role in the back three.
That duo turn 37 and 33 respectively next month. Moreover, Acerbi has proven increasingly injury-prone next summer.
Therefore, signing a younger option who can inherit the role of Acerbi is a priority for Inter.
According to Tuttosport, Inter have lined up a number of possible candidates to replace Acerbi.
There are seven names on the Nerazzurri’s shortlist in total, the newspaper anticipate.

Inter’s top target would be Bologna defender Sam Beukema, reports Tuttosport. The Dutchman has fully convinced the Nerazzurri that he would be the ideal profile to reinforce their defense.
However, there are also other names on Inter’s list.
Beukema’s Rossoblu teammate Jhon Lucumi is also a potential target for the Nerazzurro.
As are Lazio defender Mario Gila, and Udinese’s Jaka Bijol.
Meanwhile, Tuttosport reports, Inter are also eyeing up two Atalanta defenders, in the form of Isak Hien and Giorgio Scalvini.
Lastly, Fiorentina defender Pietro Commuzzo is also a player Inter are keeping an eye on.
