Manchester United had a quiet winter transfer window, making just one high-profile signing before the deadline.

The Red Devils signed Patrick Dorgu from Lecce, and he showed promise in his first two appearances.

Meanwhile, the club parted ways with Marcus Rashford, Tyrell Malacia and Antony on loan deals.

Antony has been a revelation for Real Betis. He has bagged three goals and an assist in four outings and is delighted with how things have worked out.

He told AS: “The most important thing is that I have found myself again. I am happy to be enjoying myself every day. Things go well when we are happy and content.

“I was playing little, but I have been working a lot. I needed to be happy with myself. The best version of being happy with myself is the most important thing.

“I played very little in Manchester, but I am grateful to them and also to the coach who spoke to me.

“I have also done very well in Manchester – I won two titles, and I am very grateful.

“But when I say that here, I have found myself – happiness – the people are like us in Brazil. The sun helps a lot.

“I am very happy here. Every day I wake up with a smile and that is very important.”

Antony has had a tough time with the Red Devils. He has tallied just 12 goals and five assists in 94 appearances in all competitions.

His fortunes have transformed since his loan move to Betis, but it remains to be seen whether he can sustain his form over an extended spell.

Antony also netted three goals from his first three matches for United. He subsequently struggled to replicate the same performance levels.

United will hope Antony can continue to shine at Betis over the coming months so that they can secure a reasonable fee during the summer.

The club will have to cut their losses on the £85 million spent three years ago. They could aim for at least £30-40m to offload the 24-year-old.

Antony will be in action again for Betis when they host Gent in the second leg of the Europa Conference League knockout play-off on Thursday night.
