RB Leipzig may have a preference over his destination, which could affect Alexander Isak

Benjamin Sesko is set to make his final decision on a summer transfer, and Manchester United are expected to have an advantage over Newcastle.

The Premier League pair have both reportedly made contact with RB Leipzig over a move for the £70m-rated striker. Man Utd are desperate to continue upgrading their forward line, having already spent in excess of £130million on Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

Newcastle, meanwhile, face the ever-growing reality of losing star frontman Alexander Isak, who has asked to leave amid interest from Liverpool. The Magpies have reportedly told the Premier League champions that they will not sanction Isak's exit without first signing two replacements.

So, Sesko's imminent decision on his future will be hugely important.

Fabrizio Romano reported earlier this week that "it's going to take some days before Sesko says 'OK, this is the project I want, I’ve decided.'"

He continued: "I don’t expect a very long saga. But in the next days, Sesko will meet this family with his agent, consider all the elements of this project, and then decide. With Manchester United really trying, and with Newcastle ready [to submit an offer]."

Man Utd have a delegation in Germany attempting to tie up a deal and could include £72m flop Rasmus Hojlund as part-exchange to bring down the price. The Athletic report that Leipzig are open to the idea.

Hojlund, meanwhile, insists he wants to stay and fight for his starting spot "whatever happens". Telling reporters on Thursday: “I think my plan is very clear ... I am still very young. I think people sometimes forget that.

"I am only 22 years old. I have learned a lot, and I think that shows in my game. I have done very well so far during the pre-season."

Sesko's decision will not only impact both Man Utd and Newcastle's summer, but also Liverpool's and their pursuit of Isak.
