Bayern Munich target Hakan Calhanoglu wants to stay at Inter Milan, even as owners Oaktree Capital would be willing to sell for the right price.

This according to German tabloid BILD, via FCInter1908. They report that Bayern are cooling their interest in the 30-year-old given the high fee that the Nerazzurri would demand.

In the last few days, the rumour mill has been in full swing regarding Inter midfielder Calhanoglu.

Reportedly, German giants Bayern see the Turkish international as a target for their midfield rebuild under new coach Vincent Kompany.

Reports in recent days have indicated that Bayern have already approached Calhanoglu via his representatives, There have been a couple meetings with the 30-year-old’s agent.

Bayern have already offered Calhanoglu a four-year contract. However, they have yet to make a formal offer to Inter for the midfielder.

There is no doubt that such a large fee would be a big financial boost for Inter. The Nerazzurri are still targeting ambitious financial goals.

However, the Nerazzurri owners would not sell Calhanoglu for less than that.

And according to BILD, Bayern are wary of paying that large of a fee for the former AC Milan midfielder.

Therefore, the German tabloid reports, the Bavarians are ready to return to negotiating for another midfield target in the form of Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha.

Bayern’s latest offer for the Portuguese international is €46 million plus add-ons, reports BILD.
