Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Galatasaray right-back Sacha Boey for a reported €30m.
Boey emerged as a surprise target for the Bundesliga champions this week after their efforts to sign Newcastle United’s Kieran Trippier were unsuccessful.
The 23-year-old Frenchman now becomes the club’s second signing of the January transfer window, following the arrival of Eric Dier on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, and has signed a deal until the summer of 2028.
Boey – who can also play left-back – came through the ranks at French club Rennes before moving to Galatasaray in 2021.
He went on to make 83 appearances for the Turkish giants, scoring four goals and assisting four others. At international level he has been capped by France at U21 level.
His arrival at the Allianz Arena appears to suggest Bayern’s pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain defender Nordi Mukiele is over for now.
