Bayern Munich Player Ratings from narrow win against Borussia Monchengladbach

Bayern Munich are crowned Hinrunde champions after beating Borussia Monchengladbach 1–0 on matchday 16 of the Bundesliga season. In what could’ve been a comfortable win, the Rekordmeister made the game hard for themselves as they kept Gladbach alive till the final whistle.

It was not the first time this season that Bayern’s attacking efforts did not properly reflect in the scoreline. They failed to convert 7 big chances in the match, and their only goal came from a penalty converted by Harry Kane. Monchengladbach strung together a few dangerous attacks in the second half and came the closest to scoring when Tim Kleindienst couldn't score from a free header at the far post.

While it was a frustrating watch, at the end of the day that’s another three points for Die Roten as they once again go four points clear at the top of the table. Let’s take a look at the player ratings for the victorious away team.

Goalkeeper

Manuel Neuer  - 7

Manuel Neuer didn’t have to break a sweat as Gladbach had 0 shots on target. His distribution was top-notch as usual.

Defense

Konrad Laimer  - 7

Always looked threatening going forward. Combined really well with Olise on the right side. His fierce counter pressing also stood out as Gladbach didn't get much joy progressing forward from that side.

Kim Min-jae  - 8

A solid defensive showing from South Korean International. Always got to headers first and often jumped off his line to make interceptions and win back possession.

Eric Dier  - 7
