Manchester United plan to reinforce Ruben Amorim’s squad after a disappointing last season by raising capital through the sales of stars who spent last season out on loan, like Antony.

The Brazilian enjoyed a sensational six-month spell at Real Betis, netting nine times while also registering five assists in only 26 games and carrying the Spanish side to the UEFA Conference League final.

They were keen to try and hold on to the Brazil international but were offering another loan deal, something the Red Devils are in no mood to entertain.

INEOS feel, given Antony’s current form, this might be the best time to sell him given the interest he is generating all across Europe.

Antony sale on the cards

They have slapped a transfer fee of €50 million on the 25-year-old’s head which Betis are unlikely to be able to afford anytime soon.

Atletico Madrid and surprisingly, Arsenal are also keen on the United star.

Now, as per ESPN Brazil (via TZ), Bayern Munich have also joined the race and will have to compete with domestic rivals Bayer Leverkusen for the ex-Ajax star.

Leverkusen, who have appointed Erik ten Hag as their new boss, are pushing for another reunion with the winger after choosing to bring him to Old Trafford from Amsterdam for a mammoth €95 million.

Three-way battle following Bayern Munich’s entry

They plan to use the money raised from Florian Wirtz’s sale to try and secure Antony’s signing.

The report also states that the Bavarian giants have begun talks with the Red Devils, enquiring about the terms of a potential transfer while Atletico are also in no mood to back down.

The increased interest will suit INEOS, who will be looking to initiate a bidding war to try and secure the highest fee possible from his sale.

The Sao Paulo-born ace has no future under Amorim and his skillset is not the best match for the pace and physicality of the Premier League.
