The future of Dean Huijsen is shaping up to be one of the biggest transfer stories heading into the summer window.
Real Madrid have been closely monitoring the young AFC Bournemouth centre-back, with the club’s leadership fully backing a potential move, as they set their sights on a defensive overhaul.
However, the reigning champions of Spain and Europe are not alone in the race, with Chelsea also interested and now another club joining the pursuit.
Indeed, according to Christian Falk of BILD (h/t SPORT), Bayern Munich have placed Huijsen on their shortlist of defensive targets for next season.
The injuries to Hiroki Ito and Dayot Upamecano have weakened the Bavarians backline, forcing the club to look for new defensive options.

While negotiations to renew Upamecano are ongoing, uncertainty around his release clause has prompted Bayern to consider alternatives. And, Huijsen has popped up on their radars, with the Bundesliga giants seeing him as a viable option.
Real Madrid have had Huijsen on their radar for some time. The Spanish giants even invited his father to Valdebebas to strengthen ties and demonstrate their serious interest.
Real Madrid view the Spanish international as a long-term option for the centre of their defence, fully aligning with their strategy of investing in young talent with high potential.
Huijsen is currently under contract with Bournemouth until 2030, with a €60 million release clause for this summer. While that is a significant price tag, it has not discouraged either Real Madrid or Bayern from pursuing him.
