After losing out on their preferred target for the left wing position, the Athletic Club star Nico Williams, FC Barcelona have now set their eyes on some other targets as they continue to work to strengthen the attack ahead of the 2025-26 season.
As things stand, they are being linked with two prominent names for this purpose. One of them is the Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, while the other is the Liverpool star Luis Diaz.
The Colombian is now the first priority of the Blaugrana club, but signing him would not really be easy for them. In addition to the reluctance of Liverpool to part ways with him for cheap, the fact that the German giants Bayern Munich are also interested in signing him makes his signing a very difficult operation for Barcelona.
In fact, the Bundesliga side has already set aside a significant amount for this purpose. According to Mundo Deportivo, Bayern have earmarked €150 million to sign two players, Luis Diaz and the Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade.
However, as things stand, neither of the two operations are going too well for the Bavarians. They have made two offers for the Colombian star, first of €52 million and the second of €67.5 million, but both of them have been rejected by Liverpool.
Similarly, they have also made two offers for Woltemade. The amounts offered by the Bundesliga side have been unspecified, and both have been rejected, but it is believed that Stuttgart would let the striker leave for €65 million. They have already reached an agreement with the player.
Although Barcelona would not have been concerned too much with Bayern Munich reinforcing their side in normal circumstances, the fact that both these European powerhouses are competing for the same player, and the Bavarians have a greater spending power, could spell trouble for them.
