Paris Saint-Germain have been keeping an eye on Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich for months and came close to signing him last summer.

Barcelona are also reportedly interested in Kimmich, along with Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah, as they look to strengthen their midfield and defense for the 2025 season.

According to journalists Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl, Bayern Munich have given up on convincing Kimmich to take a pay cut from his current €20 million annual salary.

With his contract expiring next year and interest from top clubs growing, a reduced deal now seems increasingly unlikely.

Amid the transfer rumors, Bayern Munich director Max Eberl commented on whether the German giants are making any progress in securing the veteran to a new contract.

“New deal? Of course we know that we can’t wait forever, but we want to give Joshua a bit of time and let his thoughts mature that Bayern Munich is the club where he wants to continue,” Eberl said. “That’s legitimate.”

CaughtOffside recently reported that Liverpool reached out to Kimmich in early January to discuss a potential move for next season and plan to follow up soon.

After missing out on Martin Zubimendi last summer, Liverpool are now turning their attention to Kimmich, whose contract with Bayern Munich is nearing its end.

The report also mentions that Manchester City are interested in Kimmich, while Real Madrid and PSG could be potential options as well.

Kimmich seems to be leaning toward a move to England, which gives Liverpool and City an edge for now, although no final decision has been made.
