Sport Bild reports that Aleix Garcia’s transfer to West Ham United stands a good chance of going through. The Bayer Leverkusen professional wishes to depart the Bundesliga for the Isle and Germany’s red company team are inclined to oblige. A pair of transfers in the €20m range should enable it to happen.
Leverkusen are prepared to accept a €20m offer for Garcia and sign their preferred replacement Quentin Timber of Feyenoord Rotterdam. Sport Bild claims that the B04 front office do wish to acquire Timber for around €15m rather than €20m, but negotiations are still proceeding apace.
Irrespective of whether a deal for Timber can be sealed, Leverkusen are already set to sign another midfielder in the form of Argentine U23 international Ezequiel Fernandez. A €30m purchase with Saudi Arabia’s Al Qasiah FC has been arranged.
That – combined with the fact that Fernandez’s compatriot Exequiel Palacios appears to be remaining put – gives head coach Erik ten Hag plenty of options in midfield. Leverkusen’s current squad inches closer to the 30-man-mark considered necessary for a three-competition year.
