An up-and-coming member of the defensive ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona has this week received a transfer enquiry by way of the Saudi Pro League.
That’s according to Jijantes, who point towards Alexis Olmedo as the player in question.
Olmedo, for his part, is a 19-year-old defender who chiefly operates in a central role, but is also capable of filling in at right-back.
The Spaniard has long been held in high regard behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital, and played an important role for Barca Atlètic last season.
With the path to first-team minutes in Hansi Flick’s squad something of a daunting one at present, though, a number of clubs have been tipped to attempt to lure Olmedo away from his long-time club.
And as alluded to above, early this week, one such club have gone as far as to make contact over a potential deal.
As per a report from Jijantes:
‘Al-Hilal have shown interest in Alexis Olmedo. The Saudi club have inquired about the situation of the reserve team defender, although they have not yet made any offer to Barça; he has a contract until 2027.’
