Barcelona youngster rejected a big-money contract offer from Saudi Arabia | OneFootball

A member of the academy ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona rejected the chance to head to Saudi Arabia, in favour of taking his talents to Catalunya’s capital last summer.

That’s according to Jijantes, who point towards Jan Virgili as the player in question.

The name of attacker Virgili has of course emerged as a prominent one in the media chatter surrounding Barcelona across the week to date.

This comes amid the understanding that, amid intense interest on the part of RCD Mallorca, the 18-year-old is ready to push for a Blaugrana exit.

Virgili, it is understood, is not keen on the prospect of lining out for Barca Atlètic in Spain’s 4th tier next season.

As alluded to above, though, just a year ago, prior to his arrival in Catalunya, the talented winger turned down a lucrative financial offer, to fulfil his dream of lining out in Barcelona’s colours.

As per a report from Jijantes:

‘Jan Virgili rejected less than €20 million over four years from Arabia because his dream was to play for Barça.’
