A highly-regarded member of the youth ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is now free to negotiate a summer exit from the club with a side of his choosing.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Pau Prim as the player in question.
Prim, for those not familiar with his name, is an 18-year-old midfielder, who has long been considered one of the standout prospects on the books in Catalunya’s capital.
Despite his tender years, the starlet is already considered one of the first names on the team sheet of Albert Sánchez’s Barca Atlètic, for whom he has started 15 of the club’s 18 league fixtures this season.
Prim is also a youth international with Spain, at U19 level.
In turn, it will no doubt mark a source of concern for all associated with Barcelona to hear that, should he choose to do so, the midfielder can now open negotiations with any and all clubs interested in his signature.
Prim’s Barcelona contract is due to expire in the summer, opening the door for a free agent summer exit.
Talks over a new deal in Catalunya remain ongoing, with it added that the priority of the player himself is to stay put.
It now remains to be seen if those in a position of power at the Camp Nou can do enough to close an agreement with a potential star of the future.
