La Liga rivals Barcelona and Real Betis are both set to benefit financially from a completed piece of business on the part of the board at the latter.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Tuesday provided an insight into the situation.
Real Betis this evening made official a fresh piece of outgoing business. This came in the form of confirmation that midfielder Álex Collado has departed on a permanent basis.
After spending the last two seasons on loan in Saudi Arabia, Collado has now joined Qatari outfit Al-Shamal.
As per a statement across Betis’ website and social media platforms on Tuesday:
‘Real Betis Balompié and Al-Shamal SC have reached an agreement for the transfer of midfielder Álex Collado, which will become effective in the first week of July.’
As alluded to above, though, the Verdiblancos will not be the only ones to secure a piece of the fee for Collado.
As part of the terms which sent the 26-year-old to Seville back in 2023, Barcelona retained a sell-on clause.
With Al-Shamal understood to have forked over around €2.5 million for Collado, Barcelona are therefore entitled to a €500,000 share.
