Ansu Fati (22) touched down in the French Riviera on Thursday afternoon. The Spaniard is set to undergo a medical before completing a move to AS Monaco, who, as revealed by L’Équipe, will not pay the entirety of his salary.
Fati will join Monaco on loan from Barcelona. The move comes after weeks of tough negotiations, with the Catalan club initially reticent to accept a loan. However, an agreement was reached, and Fati is already on site to undergo his medical and complete his move to the Principality club.
L’Équipe have revealed, however, that Les Monégasques will pay just half of the forward’s salary over the course of the loan spell. The loan deal also includes an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season, worth €11m.
Fati’s arrival is set to be accompanied by that of Paul Pogba (32), who also touched down in Nice on Thursday ahead of his medical. The Frenchman, returning from his doping ban, will sign a two-year deal.
