A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Sunday levelled the season goal contribution tally of Real Madrid counterpart Arda Güler.

The player in question? Fermín López.

Youngster Fermín was for his part afforded a rare opportunity to impress from the off this evening, as Barcelona played host to Valencia.

And, safe to say, the Spanish international went on to take full advantage of the chance…

En route to an eventual 7-1 romp for the Blaugrana, Fermín, remarkably, chipped in with four direct goal contributions.

As much came by way of a brace, as well as a pair of assists.

And, as alluded to above, such excellence on the part of the young midfielder has since given rise to a head-turning statistic.

Despite having been afforded just eight starts across all competitions thus far in 2024/25, Fermín has now racked up eight total goals and assists.

This is the same number as have been managed by Real Madrid prodigy Arda Güler, in four fewer appearances.
