A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is in line to miss the upcoming Copa del Rey final.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who highlight Alejandro Balde as the player in question.
The subject of Barcelona’s defensive options has of course been a prominent talking point in the Spanish media headlines over the last 48 hours.
This comes after the Blaugrana were dealt a blow, upon Alejandro Balde suffering an injury setback.
En route to Barca’s La Liga victory over Leganés, the 21-year-old was forced into a premature departure from proceedings, with what has since been confirmed as a hamstring issue.
The full extent of the problem has as of yet not been revealed, but if the latest word stemming from the media on Monday is anything to go by, the news is far from positive.
As per a report from MD:
‘Alejandro Balde, unless he makes an express recovery, will not be available to play in the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid on April 26. The club’s internal recovery timeline suggests he could be out for around three weeks, which would prevent Balde from being ready for the Copa final at La Cartuja.’
