Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has made direct contact with Barcelona star Fermín López regarding a potential move to the club.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Thursday provided an insight into the situation.

It is of course common knowledge across the continent at this point that Chelsea are actively pushing to bring Fermín in before the close of the summer transfer window.

The Blues, it is understood, today raised their offer to Barcelona, evidently considering the 22-year-old the missing piece from their midfield setup.

To the point that, as alluded to above, Fermín has received direct contact on the part of Chelsea’s headmaster.

As per a report from Sport:

‘They consider Fermín a strategic piece for Enzo Maresca’s project, who has personally transmitted to him the confidence of being an important player from day one to eliminate the player’s possible doubts about the change of scenery.’

The final decision now lies with the Spanish international himself…
