FC Barcelona are always keeping an eye out on promising prospects across the European leagues. However, it is perhaps even easier for the club to monitor players the closer they are to home. Over in Spain, there are always some talented gems that Barcelona likes to keep an eye out for.
For now, there is an abundance of talent already within the team and Hansi Flick is getting the most out of them so far this season. With Barcelona competing for every single competition and doing well, it is no secret that La Blaugrana have entrusted their future to the right group of youngsters.
However, there is always room for more internal competition that can push each player to newer heights. For that, as highlighted by SPORT, Barcelona will be keeping a close eye on a certain 18-year-old versatile left-back who can also operate on the right flank.
Currently contracted to Bayern Munich, Adam Aznou is a talented fullback who was previously a part of La Masia and left Barça only recently in 2022. In fact, players like Lamine Yamal and Hector Fort have previously played with him as well in the youth categories. However, he is now set to return to Spain as Real Valladolid have managed to secure his services on a loan deal till the end of the season.
While his contract with Bayern runs until 2027, his chances of finding regular first team football there are difficult due to the recent renewal of Canadian left-back Alphonso Davies. However, Barcelona are reportedly aware of this possible frustration for the player, and are thus keeping an eye on him.
Despite the fact that Alejandro Balde has been doing well this season, and Gerard Martin’s recent renewal would suggest that he is the primary backup option there, Barça reportedly value Aznou’s versatility and quality. It remains to be seen what ends up happening, but the player’s return to Spain is going to allow Barcelona to take a closer look.
