There wasn’t much buzz around a potential move for Alexander Isak in January, but that could change this summer. Paris Saint-Germain and several other clubs are reportedly eyeing a stronger push to sign the Newcastle United striker.
According to RMC Sport, PSG even floated a swap deal involving Gonçalo Ramos, Randal Kolo Muani, and Marco Asensio to bring Isak to Paris.
Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona are interested in Newcastle midfielders Sandro Tonali and Isak. Nonetheless, one Premier League club could be on the way out.
The Guardian’s Ed Aarons recently reported that Arsenal see Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres as a more realistic option than Isak. Still, all these reports could be coming from one source: Isak’s camp.

With everyday being new reports and rumors regarding Isak, one former scout states that the agent could be at work to ensure his client gets what he’s asking for from Newcastle United.
Newcastle United’s contract negotiations with Isak have hit a roadblock, with ongoing speculation linking the striker to various clubs.
Former Manchester United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Isak’s agent may be fueling the transfer rumors by leaking stories to the media.
“It’s always difficult to negotiate while there’s so much talk about a move,” Brown told Football Insider. “I’ve seen it before at clubs where players walk in and the rest of the players are joking ‘where are you going today then?’ – with all these moves being talked about. His agent has obviously been putting his name out there with a possible payday in mind.
“The whispers about a move to Liverpool don’t seem to be going away either. Isak could join any club he wanted in world football, he’s that good, but they have to be prepared to meet his asking price. He’s not going to push for a move away from Newcastle, he won’t agitate for a move. Newcastle have just won a trophy, the fans love him, they’ll be playing in Europe next season and the club want to match his ambitions.
“But it is hard to ignore when it’s constantly being mentioned, and then it becomes difficult to sit down and discuss terms over a new deal. So I think those talks might be delayed until things start to die down a bit. I don’t think he’s had his head turned or anything, and Newcastle of course aren’t interested in selling their best players, but it’s a case of wait and see. “
