Meanwhile, the young Colombian attacker also has one goal from a solitary appearance in the League Cup.

Nothing to the rumours

Duran’s explosive start to the campaign led to rumours from his homeland that Barcelona had taken a liking to the young striker.

However, Fabrizio Romano has now clarified that the Blaugrana are not working on anything regarding Duran at this point and there is nothing to the reports that were circulating.

The 20-year-old attacker, who has made 12 appearances for the Colombian national team, had been linked with a summer move to West Ham United, but it fell through.

Since then, he has put his head down and impressed at Aston Villa, making clubs take notice. However, Barcelona at this point are not working on anything related to the youngster.

Full trust in Lewandowski

The Italian journalist also states that, as things stand, Barcelona have full and complete faith in Robert Lewandowski, who has made a brilliant start to the new season under Hansi Flick.

Indeed, with seven goals and two assists from eight games in all competitions, the 36-year-old appears to be back to his best after a mixed season under Xavi Hernandez last time out.

Flick and Barcelona consider Lewandowski an extremely key member of the team and both parties are very happy with each other, despite the rumours of a transfer to Saudi Arabia during the summer.
