Recent reports from SPORT suggest that Ansu Fati’s time at Barcelona may be coming to an end, as the club’s manager has no intention of including him in his long-term plans.
This decision was not made recently but was communicated directly to the player as early as January during the winter transfer window.
At that time, Hansi Flick personally informed Ansu that he was not part of the club’s plans for the remainder of the season and encouraged him to seek a new club where he could get regular playing time to regain his best form.
Ansu has had an underwhelming season, managing just 187 minutes of playing time across eight matches.
However, his last appearance in the Spanish league came on November 10, while his most recent Champions League outing dates back to October 23.
Aside from his struggles on the pitch, Ansu’s high wages have also become a growing concern for the club. His contract includes increasing salary terms, placing him among the highest earners in the squad.
However, given his lack of involvement on the field, Barcelona see this as an unsustainable financial burden.

The club played a significant role in the discussions regarding his future, supporting Flick’s decision to encourage the forward to seek a move elsewhere.
Barcelona even presented Ansu with various transfer options, hoping to help him find a suitable club.
However, the forward was not convinced by any of the proposals and turned down at least four offers.
With limited chances of playing again this season, Ansu Ansu faces a critical decision in the summer. Flick is set to continue as Barcelona’s head coach, meaning the player’s situation is unlikely to change.
Spending another season on the sidelines is not a viable option, and a move could be the best outcome for all parties involved.
His agent, Jorge Mendes, understands Barcelona’s stance and now has the task of finding a solution that benefits both the club and the player.
The coming months will be decisive as Ansu must come to terms with his situation and take the necessary steps for the next phase of his career.
