Barcelona legend Sergio Busquets has on Tuesday moved to reveal his appreciation for Blaugrana youngster Marc Casadó.
Youngster Casadó has of course spent the early months of the new campaign establishing himself as the latest breakout star in Barcelona’s first-team setup.
Afforded a prolonged chance to impress owing to an injury crisis in Hansi Flick’s squad, the midfielder has taken full advantage, courtesy of a string of standout performances.
So much so that, just last week, Casadó was afforded a first-ever senior international call-up.
All told, to date this season, the 21-year-old has racked up 15 appearances across all competitions, notching five assists along the way.
And one individual who has this week admitted that he has been left ‘surprised’ by the level being showcased by Casadó comes in the form of the aforementioned Sergio Busquets.
Speaking during an interview with COPE, Busquets, more than qualified to speak on matters at the base of Barcelona’s midfield, explained:
“Casadó surprised us a lot. I have known him for a long time. He is a very good player and right now he’s playing exceptionally well. He makes assists, does not lose the ball and always makes the right decisions.”
