Barcelona fans protect two players from criticism during Benfica clash | OneFootball

Supporters of La Liga giants Barcelona have on Wednesday moved to sing the praises of two members of the club’s squad.

This, of course, comes amid an evening to forget for the Blaugrana to date.

Hansi Flick’s troops are currently locked in action on the continent, in a Champions League meeting with Portuguese heavyweights Benfica.

As things stand, the visitors find themselves behind on the scoresheet, owing to high-profile mistakes on the part of both Wojciech Szczęsny and Ronald Araújo.

And yet, amid what has proven a hugely frustrating outing to date for all of a Barcelona persuasion, fans have managed to highlight two positives.

These come in the form of the performances put forth by youngsters Pedri and Alejandro Balde.

Amid a downright frenetic matchup in Lisbon to date, both Pedri and Balde have stood up to the test, representing, in the eyes of many a Barca fan, their side’s only players worthy of praise:
