Barcelona’s defensive stalwart Jules Kounde is set to join forces with Real Madrid’s midfield maestro Aurelien Tchouameni as co-presidents of a team in the newly launched Kings League France.

The announcement, made on Sunday, marks a significant moment for the innovative football-streaming hybrid competition as it expands into France, bringing together some of the biggest names in both sports and entertainment.

Kounde, who has established himself as a key component in Barcelona’s defence, will have to set aside his rivalry with Real Madrid’s Tchouameni to lead a Kings League squad, joined by AC Milan’s French goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

The Kings League, already a hit in Spain under the leadership of Gerard Piqué, is gaining traction globally, and its French iteration is no exception.

Another team will feature popular French streamer AmineMaTue, alongside former footballers Samir Nasri and Jeremy Menez, while ex-Valencia defender Adil Rami, who hung up his boots in 2023, also joins the fray.

It must also be noted that Kounde is quite close to Tchouameni as they are teammates in the French national team. Their partnership, therefore, could be a match made in heaven.
