Marc-Andre ter Stegen has been heavily linked with a move to Galatasaray lately, with a report earlier today even claiming that the Barcelona goalkeeper has signed an agreement.
This claim has been refuted by Barcelona-based journalist Achraf Ben Ayad, who has confirmed that ter Stegen has not reached an agreement with any club.
Now, Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu (h/t FCB World) has offered an update on Galatasaray’s pursuit of a new goalkeeper this summer.
The Turkish giants are determined to bring in a new shot-stopper this summer as they look to replace the departing Fernando Muslera.
While ter Stegen has been linked, Yagiz claims that he is not Galatasaray’s first-choice pick.
It appears the Turkish outfit have identified Djordje Petrovic as their desired replacement for Muslera this summer.

Petrovic currently plies his trade with Chelsea but played last season on loan at RC Strasbourg, featuring in 31 league matches.
The Serbian appears to have no future at Chelsea, who have already roped in Filip Jorgensen and were linked with a move for AC Milan’s Maik Maignan.
From a sporting perspective, Petrovic could be a better option for Galatasaray as the Serbian is much younger and could serve the club for a longer period.
Ter Stegen, on the other hand, is already in the final phase of his career and may demand a higher salary.
The deal, though, is not completely dead in the water, and there still remains a possibility that Galatasaray might make a move for ter Stegen, especially if the Petrovic deal falls through.
Barcelona, though, may have to start looking for other suitors as they look to offload the German international this summer.
