La Liga giants Barcelona have this week been afforded some altogether positive news on the monetary front.
This comes amid confirmation that the Blaugrana are in line for an imminent cash injection, by way of the transfer market.
As per a report from Diario Sport, Chadi Riad is all set to make the move to the Premier League, with Crystal Palace.
For those not familiar with his name, central defender Riad has spent the season out on loan from Barcelona, at La Liga rivals Real Betis.
And the Moroccan international has shone bright across his stint with Manuel Pellegrini’s side, establishing himself as an undisputed starter.
His stellar form, though, has long begun to pique attentions across the continent.
And, as alluded to above, as much looks set to culminate in Riad imminently sealing a move to England.
As per the aforementioned Sport, the 20-year-old is in the process of ‘finalizing his move to Crystal Palace’, with an ‘agreement in principle’ having been reached between the parties.
The somewhat complicated transfer will see Real Betis activate their €3 million option to buy Riad from Barcelona.
From here, the stopper will then be moved swiftly on to Palace, for an agreed sum in the region of €18 million, plus bonuses.
And Barcelona’s sell-on clause will see the Catalans secure 50% of this fee, too.
