Having signed Joan Garcia already, FC Barcelona are currently fully focused on completing the operation to bring in Nico Williams from Athletic Club.
Once that is out of the way, the sporting director, Deco, will turn his attention towards a new right-back to provide cover and competition for Jules Kounde.
Names such as Joao Cancelo, Vanderson, and Marc Pubill have been linked in recent months while the idea of not signing a player has also been considered following Eric Garcia’s impressive displays at right-back towards the end of the season.
However, the matter remains on Deco’s agenda and an opportunity could soon knock on the Blaugrana director’s doors to reinforce the position.
Indeed, according to Calciomercato, Fiorentina right-back Dodo is considering leaving the club this summer amidst interest from Barcelona and AC Milan.
The Brazilian full-back, under contract until 2027, had requested a renewal offer from the club last October but only received one during the winter. The delay has caused tension and has influenced his stance this summer.
Fiorentina, for their part, claim the proposal made was appropriate and that the delay was due to the fact that Dodo’s contract runs until 2027 and not 2026 – so it was not seen as a priority.

Sporting director Daniele Prade had expressed calm over the matter before the resignation of coach Raffaele Palladino, an event that disrupted the club but did not alter the situation surrounding the 26-year-old right-back.
As such, the player wants a change of scenery and sees this as an opportunity to increase his visibility ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, hoping to catch the attention of Brazil’s new head coach, Carlo Ancelotti.
As per the report, interest in Dodo has come from Barcelona, led by Hansi Flick, and AC Milan under Massimiliano Allegri. However, no formal moves have been made at this stage.
This is not the first time that Barça have been credited with an interest in the 26-year-old. The Brazilian defender had initially been on the club’s radar back in 2022 but no move materialised.
Leading up to this summer window, the full-back had again appeared on the Blaugrana’s agenda, although things had gone quiet in recent weeks.
But with Dodo now actively seeking an exit from Fiorentina, it will be interesting to see if Barcelona make a move.
