Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has certainly gained a reputation as a knockout specialist.

Whilst consistency from week to week has sometimes eluded the Nerazzurri during Inzaghi’s time in charge, they’ve always been good value for a run in Europe, or the Coppa Italia.

This season, Inter have a golden opportunity to reach yet another Coppa Italia final. They take on AC Milan in the second leg of a finely-poised semifinal tie later this month.

And in the Champions League, Inter have a golden opportunity to reach the semis. They beat Bayern Munich in the first leg of a quarterfinal tie this week.

New FIFA Club World Cup Trophy

That’s all before taking into consideration what participation in the Club World Cup is worth for Inter Milan.

The Nerazzurri’s European exploits under Inzaghi earned them a spot in that cash cow competition. They’re one of two Serie A representatives, along with Juventus.

As Tuttosport highlight, just being on the plane to the Club World Cup is worth €24 million to Inter.

Meanwhile, Inzaghi put €4 million in the bank for reaching the Supercoppa Italiana final in January.

Inter have guaranteed revenues of €2.7 million from the Coppa Italia. And €98.5 million from the Champions League.

And if Inter were to finish second in the Serie A table, they would bank €15.7 million.

Therefore, the minimum amount of prize money that Inter have brought in this season (barring a truly spectacular Serie A collapse) would be €147.8 million, Tuttosport highlights.

But if Inter win trophies over the remainder of the campaign, things would get better.

Winning a second straight Serie A title would be worth €18.7 million to Inter. And a Coppa Italia triumph would entail €7.1 million in prize money.

Meanwhile, if Inter can go all the way in the Champions League, they’d add €138.5 million to their coffers in total.

And then a Club World Cup victory in addition to all those would take Inter’s total winnings for the season to a truly eye-watering €290.2 million.
