On Thursday, L'Équipe unveiled the list of the 30 Ballon d'Or nominees by France Football. Mohamed Salah, Serhou Guirassy, and Achraf Hakimi are the three Africans in contention. With a Champions League title under his belt, the Moroccan star is in a strong position to lift the trophy this year.

Indeed, the Moroccan full-back has dazzled this season with PSG. He has practically swept all before him with the Parisian club: Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and the Champions League. Hakimi provided 15 assists this season from his defensive flank and even scored in the Champions League final. He is widely regarded as the best in his position.
