Backup Barcelona star pushing for starting berth | OneFootball

A backup member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is expected to push hard to secure for himself first-choice status over the season ahead.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Ferran Torres as the player in question.

Frontman Ferran is for his part fresh off another fine showing on Thursday. Introduced off the bench during Barcelona’s friendly meeting with FC Seoul, the Spanish international went on to notch a fine brace.

Ferran looked sharp throughout his time on the pitch in the South Korean capital, with his movement and finishing of an altogether high level.

So much so that, as alluded to above, the former Manchester City man appears primed to push for a place in boss Hansi Flick’s first-choice XI this coming season.

As per Sport, after a thoroughly impressive campaign last time out, and with Robert Lewandowski getting on in years, Ferran is ready to battle the Pole for starting duties in 2025/26.
