A head-turning statistic surrounding the production of Atlético Madrid star Alexander Sørloth in front of goal this past season has come to the fore online.

This comes amid confirmation that the Norwegian managed the third best goals-per-minute ratio in Europe’s top-five leagues in 2024/25.

Frontman Sørloth is for his part fresh off a spectacular close to the La Liga campaign.

With an altogether respectable haul of 13 league goals already to his name, the 29-year-old exploded into life, finding the net seven times in Atlético’s final four fixtures.

This included all four goals in a 4-0 drubbing of Real Sociedad earlier this month.

And such exploits on Sørloth’s part, as alluded to above, have since been aptly highlighted by an impressive statistic.

As revealed by StatMuse, the summer arrival in Spain’s capital managed a goalscoring ratio bettered by only two players in Europe’s top-five leagues in 2024/25.

In the goals-per-90 charts, Sørloth’s 1.15 average was behind only those of Patrik Schick (1.12) and Ousmane Dembélé (1.09).
