Atletico Madrid have already parted ways with Mario Hermoso, Gabriel Paulista, Caglar Soyuncu and Memphis Depay this summer, and further exits are planned. Stefan Savic and Saul Niguez are expected to leave imminently, while the possible sale of Javi Galan is an option for the club’s sporting department.

Galan signed from Celta Vigo last summer, but he is already not counted on by Diego Simeone. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Real Sociedad, and another exit – whether that be temporary or permanent – appears almost certain to take place over the next few weeks.

Because La Real are close to signing Sergio Gomez from Manchester City, a return to Donostia-San Sebastian for Galan looks unlikely, although there is still interest. According to Corriere dello Sport (via MD), he’s also wanted by Serie A giants Lazio.

The likelihood is that Atletico Madrid won’t make it too difficult for Galan to leave this summer, although it does depart permanently, a considerable fee would be required.
