FC Barcelona have been high-flying in La Liga and the Champions League so far this season, and much of their success can be attributed to the incredible attacking trio of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal.

However, the trio’s outstanding performances make it difficult for other players like Pau Victor, Ansu Fati, and, to an extent, Ferran Torres to get opportunities, unless Hansi Flick decides to rotate them for a particular game.

That said, with injuries to Dani Olmo and Fermin Lopez, Flick frequently used Ferran on the left during the early part of the season, but an untimely injury has kept the 24-year-old out of action since then. Nonetheless, this hasn’t stopped him from attracting interest from top European clubs.

Even yesterday, we covered a story, revealing that Aston Villa and Arsenal were keeping tabs on the Barcelona forward. Now, as per Fichajes, Ferran Torres also has interest from La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid and Diego Simeone’s side could make an approach to sign him.

A case can be made that the €30m-rated Barcelona forward would suit Simeone’s system much better than he fits in at the Catalan club. Often, Ferran looks out of sync with his teammates here but despite what fans think, every coach he has played under has valued him a lot.

Despite being rivals in the league, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have seen, over the years, a number of players move one way or the other, making this potential transfer for Ferran Torres a quite realistic possibility should Diego Simeone want it to happen.

At 24, Ferran still has a lot of time to make something of his career. His talent is obvious but for some reason, he has not been able to make it work at Barcelona except for a few flashes of brilliance. It remains to be seen if he gets a move away from the club and if Atletico Madrid happens to be his next destination.
