Atlético de Madrid failed to seize full advantage of LaLiga after a 1-1 draw with Celta Vigo.

Diego Simeone's side were reduced to 10 men after just seven minutes as Pablo Barrios received a straight red card for a studs-up challenge on Pablo Durán.

Things went from bad to worse for the hosts in the second half as they conceded a penalty after Borja Iglesias was hauled down, allowing Iago Aspas to convert.

But the Colchoneros salvaged a point in the closing stages courtesy of Alexander Sørloth bringing down José María Giménez's ball over the top before firing low.

Atleti remain a point behind neighbours Real Madrid at the summit but will both be leapfrogged by Barcelona if they can overcome Rayo Vallecano on Monday.
