The words spoken by Gian Piero Gasperini yesterday were not well received by the management of Atalanta.
The Nerazzurri coach, speaking about the future and his relationship with the club, said: “For once in nine years I will have to lower the bar, I don’t know if it will be accepted or not. Perhaps in the last year some cracks have appeared, some different visions, but everything can be overcome.”
According to Sportitalia, the American ownership did not appreciate the content of the message, interpreted as a sign of distance between the parties.
On the table, Atalanta has already put a proposal to extend Gasperini’s contract until 2027 accompanied by a generous financial offer.
But Gasperini continues to stall, reflecting on what to do. In the meantime, Roma is carefully observing the evolution of the situation: Gasperini’s name is among those evaluated by Claudio Ranieri for the future of the Giallorossi bench.
But in the last few hours it has been Cesc Fabregas who has jumped into pole position, with the Giallorossi club continuing to work to convince Como to release him.
