Aston Villa have players that could be part of negotiations with Real Betis to sign winger Jesus Rodriguez, amid the Spanish side having a clear stance on the teenager’s valuation.

Villa held talks with Betis about a possible deal for the 19-year-old earlier this week as they look to strengthen.

With Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio going back to their parent clubs, Aston Villa will need to reinforce their final third options.

They are admirers of Rodriguez, who broke into the Betis side in the second half of the recent season.

He has a release clause which is set at €35m, but which Betis can quickly increase to €50m by triggering a clause in his deal and increasing his salary, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Betis.

Betis would not consider letting Rodriguez depart the club for under the value of his buy-out clause.

However, Aston Villa have players who it is suggested could become part of a negotiation.

Left-back Alex Moreno has been linked with Betis and is a player the club could consider signing, while midfielder Enzo Barrenechea is another possible star who could be included.

Barrenechea has just completed the season on loan in La Liga at Valencia.

The ball would look to be in Aston Villa’s court to try to strike a deal with Betis if they are determined to take Rodriguez to Villa Park this summer.

Including players in a deal to bring the price of the winger down could make sense for Aston Villa as they try to stay on the right side of PSR rules.
