Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim needs reinforcements desperately if he is to help the club out of their current predicament.

However, following a massive summer splurge and the compensation paid to former boss Erik ten Hag and Sporting Lisbon to acquire their manager, the Red Devils have very little wriggle room regarding their PSR situation.

Hence, INEOS are mulling over player sales to raise money with even academy graduates not off limits as their sales count towards pure profit.

Both Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho’s names have been linked with sensational exits but the Carrington product most likely to make way this January is Marcus Rashford.

Rashford’s future up in the air

The Mancunian has already come out and declared his intention to leave his boyhood club and the forward is yet to make a first-team appearance since the Manchester derby last month.

He is unlikely to be involved for Sunday’s FA Cup tie against Arsenal as well with Barcelona and AC Milan among the leading contenders at this stage.

Surprisingly, AS Monaco were also linked with the Englishman after the Ligue 1 side saw Folarin Balogun suffer a severe injury which will keep him sidelined until April.

However, Get French Football News have now claimed that the French team are closing in on the signing of former Arsenal forward Mika Biereth from Sturm Graz, and that means they have neither the room nor the finances to go after Rashford.

Monaco ruled out

“However, whilst Monaco are looking to bring in reinforcements in this sector of the pitch, Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford (27) is not being considered, Get French Football News understands.

“The Telegraph reported an interest from the Principality club on Friday. The England international is out of favour at his formative club and is looking for a new club. He has been heavily linked with a move to Serie A.

“However, with former Arsenal forward Mika Biereth set to arrive from Sturm Graz in a deal that could rise to €15m, Rashford’s arrival is not a topic in Monaco.”

AC Milan seem to be in pole position at the moment and the saga is turning into a distraction at this stage and the sooner the club move on the England international the better.
