In preparation for the UEFA Women’s Champions League Qualifying Round 1, 24 players trained today, including 21 outfield players and three goalkeepers.

The players who did not take part in the collective training were Beth Mead, Steph Catley, and Lina Hurtig.

These three players will not be involved on Wednesday against Rangers.

Arsenal also disclosed their 25-player squad list for the qualifying round 1:

The players not listed who were part of the pre-season include Pelova (ACL), Ilestedt (pregnancy), and the three youngsters Harbert, Lia, and Earl, who could appear tomorrow as players on the B-list.

It is important to note that Reid, Godfrey, and Agyemang are in the full squad because the club needs to have at least eight locally trained players, with a combination of club-trained and association-trained players, to have the maximum 25 players registered.

Mead, Russo, and Williams are the association-trained players, while Wubben-Moy, Williamson, Little, Agyemang, and Godfrey are the five club-trained players.

Looking at our opponents, Rangers FC, they are managed by the former Arsenal player Josanne Potter. They have a good number of current and former Scotland internationals, including Jenna Fife, Leah Eddie, Nicola Docherty, Brogan Hay, Lizzie Arnot, and Jane Ross.

They also have several players who have played in the WSL and the Championship, such as Laura Rafferty, Olivia McLoughlin, Tessel Middag, Rio Hardy, and Katie Wilkinson.

They are likely to adopt defensive tactics, as Jo Potter has spoken in the past about the importance of keeping clean sheets in the league.
