Arsenal travel to face high-flying Nottingham Forest in the Premier League this evening.
Mikel Arteta’s men saw their title dream suffer a severe dent after defeat to West Ham at the weekend. That result, coupled with Liverpool’s win at Manchester City, leaves the Gunners 11 points adrift of the league leaders.
Even with a game in hand, it looks a tough ask for Arsenal to recover that deficit. Paramount now is ensuring the North London side keep above a congested chase for Champions League qualification.
Forest are six points behind Arsenal, amid a season that has exceeded all expectations. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are third in the table and dreaming of a place in Europe’s elite.
Mikel Arteta remains without a recognised option at centre-forward following season-ending injuries to Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus. Mikel Merino was used as an auxiliary option at the weekend, as Arsenal lacked threat in the final third.
The Gunners will also be without Myles Lewis-Skelly following his red card against West Ham with the teenager sent off for the second time this season.
One silver lining in that defeat was the return of Ben White from the bench. The defender made his first league appearance since November.
Arsenal predicted XI: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Partey, Rice, Odegaard; Nwaneri, Trossard, Merino.
Nottingham Forest host Arsenal in the Premier League on Wednesday 26th February 2025. Kick-off at the City Ground is 19:30.
The game will be broadcast on TNT Sports 2.
