Arsenal are considering the prospect of signing a new striker during the ongoing transfer window, according to Italian outlet TuttoJuve.

The London giants are six points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand.

The Gunners need to make up ground during the second half of the season, and manager Mikel Arteta could prefer to sign another centre-forward.

Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak has been constantly linked, but they are unlikely to sanction his sale as they push for Champions League qualification.

The Gunners are reportedly considering the possibility of signing Randal Kolo Muani, but they will have to negotiate a permanent deal for his services.

Paris Saint-Germain want to offload him permanently rather than on loan. They want at least £50 million for the striker, which is beyond the reach of some Italian clubs.

Arsenal are unlikely to pursue a permanent deal for Muani

The Gunners have long-term targets for the centre-forward position. Isak has been linked for some time, while RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres are on their radar.

Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha is also highly regarded by the club. The Brazil international has been monitored closely over recent months.

Arsenal are unlikely to acquire Muani’s services on a long-term agreement. A temporary switch with an option to buy would be ideal.

This would enable them to assess whether the ‘explosive‘ striker can adapt to the intensity and physical demands of the Premier League. Arsenal could purchase him if he succeeds.

If PSG are not open to such an agreement, the Gunners may not make an offer for the 26-year-old.
