In September, CaughtOffside reported that Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, and Paris Saint-Germain are vying for Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyökeres.
Per the report, Tottenham is said to be in the lead for his signature, while Chelsea view him as a backup option as they focus on a potential January or summer bid for Victor Osimhen.
PSG are also monitoring Gyökeres, thanks in part to their strong ties with Sporting. However, CaughtOffside points out that any potential transfer will depend on whether the club chooses to sell Gonçalo Ramos or Randal Kolo Muani at the end of the season, which is still up in the air.
Florian Plettenberg from Sky Sports Germany adds that Gyökeres has a release clause of €100 million, but there’s an agreement in place for him to leave Sporting CP next summer for a fee between €60 million and €70 million.
While a transfer this winter seems unlikely, a move next summer appears quite feasible. In England, clubs like Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea are particularly interested in the 26-year-old striker.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Gyökeres is set to leave Sporting next summer, with Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, PSG, Juventus, and AC Milan all interested in signing him.
Last week, TEAMTalk reported that Gyökeres has emerged as a prime target for Arsenal, particularly after Manchester United’s recent hiring of Sporting CP’s manager, which has impacted his situation.
Arsenal are keen to secure a high-quality striker in the coming transfer windows but is cautious about overspending in January. They might wait until the season’s end when they’d be better positioned to make the £84 million investment needed to bring Gyökeres from Portugal.
