The fate of Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes seems to be sealed, given how little he has featured so far at the FIFA Club World Cup under new manager Xabi Alonso.
After starting the first game vs Al-Hilal, the 24-year-old star did not feature against Pachuca, appeared only as a substitute against RB Salzburg before being an unused substitute once again vs Juventus.
It has since been reported that Alonso and Real Madrid are now open to Rodrygo’s departure as long as a suitable offer comes along.
And, according to AS, Arsenal are willing to make a big financial effort to sign Rodrygo this summer and would be prepared to offer more than €90 million for the Real Madrid ace.
Arsenal are preparing for what could be the most decisive summer in the club’s recent history. Having already secured deals for Martin Zubimendi and Kepa Arrizabalaga, the Gunners are now preparing to spend big on their attacking unit.

While the striker situation – between Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres – is a priority, the north Londoners have also set their sights firmly set on Rodrygo.
Arsenal want the Brazilian to become the new attacking focal point of Mikel Arteta’s project, alongside Bukayo Saka. Contacts with Rodrygo’s camp have been ongoing since before the end of last season.
Rodrygo has requested a complete halt to all negotiations until after the Club World Cup so he can remain fully focused. Therefore, talks will not resume until August.
The plan is precise: once the tournament ends, a conversation will take place between Alonso and the player to clarify his future.
If Alonso does not count on him, Rodrygo would be open to leaving, provided he can choose his next destination.
By then, Arsenal expect to have reshaped their squad significantly with several exits being planned for this summer so as to make room for new arrivals such as Rodrygo.
