Reiss Nelson and Arsenal will consider transfer offers this summer, though the Gunners will hold out for a good fee if they are to sell.

Fabrizio Romano reports in his Daily Briefing that Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson could end up leaving in the summer, and the player and his club will consider proposals in the upcoming window.

Romano adds that the two parties aren’t desperate to part ways, and they’ll only do so if Arsenal receive a good offer. But it’s certainly a possibility that Nelson leaves.

There was plenty of interest in Nelson last summer, when he would have been a free agent. That all seemed to be put to bed when he signed a four-year contract with an option for a further year, but the situation has changed again this season.

Whilst Nelson has made 23 appearances for the Arsenal first team this season, he’s only racked up five starts in all competitions. He’s scored one goal and assisted two in his 639 minutes on the pitch.

Those limited minutes obviously aren’t ideal for a player aged 24, and there was some talk of a potential loan move ahead of the January transfer window.

Sevilla and Wolves were both reportedly interested, but the player always favoured sticking with Arsenal and fighting for his place in Mikel Arteta’s team.

In the end, that’s what he did, only to drop out of Arteta’s squad towards the end of the Premier League campaign. Nelson has only featured on the bench in one of the last seven league games.

Charles Watts recently reported that Premier League clubs are interested in Nelson, and that he believes the Gunners will sell if they get a good offer.

Brighton and Hove Albion and AC Milan showed significant interest in 2023, but it remains to be seen whether they’ll be as keen now that Nelson has a long-term deal and Arsenal want a fee.
