Arsenal are keeping tabs on Fenerbahce striker Youssef En-Nesyri ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Turkish outlet Sabah (page 15).

The Gunners have had a mixed Premier League campaign amid injuries and poor refereeing decisions, but they are still in the title race alongside Liverpool.

Regardless of how the season ends, the London giants are expected to spend big in the summer and a marquee striker could be one of the top priorities.

Sabah today claim that the Gunners and Manchester United are keeping tabs on the performances of En-Nesyri, who joined Fenerbahce from Sevilla last summer.

The 27-year-old had a slow start to the campaign with a regular bench role, but his form has been exceptional since October with regular goal involvements.

The £18 million-rated star has 23 goals and four assists from 35 games for Fenerbahce this term.

En-Nesyri speculation could be agent-driven

The Gunners are lacking a reliable goalscorer to lead the attack. Kai Havertz netted 15 times before his hamstring injury, but he was guilty of squandering several clear-cut chances.

The German has missed 15 big chances in the Premier League alone. Arsenal need an upgrade in the summer, but we don’t believe the club will consider an approach for En-Nesyri.

The Moroccan star has a proven track record in La Liga and could be eyeing a Premier League move.

However, he does not fit into manager Mikel Arteta’s playing style. En-Nesyri is a traditional number nine and he is not someone known for his ball control or ability to link up play.

In our view, the speculation could be agent-driven to find a bigger club for En-Nesyri. Arsenal are more likely to pursue a Premier League-proven striker such as Alexander Isak.

The club could also return for Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins after a failed winter approach.
