Viktor Gyokeres has informed Sporting CP that he has no intention of returning to the club, according to Record.
The 27-year-old wants to leave this summer amid interest from Arsenal and Manchester United.
He believes he had a gentleman’s agreement to leave Sporting for a €70 million fee this summer.
Club president Frederico Varandas has publicly declared he will not be sold for that amount.
Gyokeres reportedly feels betrayed and has threatened not to attend pre-season training.
Sporting are not under pressure to sell, with the striker having three years left on his contract at the Estadio Jose Alvalade.
However, it could be risky to keep an unhappy player at the club.
Arsenal and United are keen on Gyokeres, but he favours a move to the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners submitted a bid worth €65m, which was rejected.
Arsenal could return with another offer, but it is unlikely they will be ready to meet Sporting’s €80m valuation.
Man Utd will not be able to afford to meet their demands.
The Red Devils have already wrapped up a €73m move for Matheus Cunha, and they are edging closer to signing Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.
A transfer for Gyokeres will only be possible if Sporting lower the fee.
