Arsenal have struggled to score consistent goals this season. Their number nine, Gabriel Jesus has been out of form and Kai Havertz has also struggled to find the back of the net consistently. So, Arsenal need a reliable goalscorer who can score goals consistently and provide the team with the edge up front. The Gunners have tried their best but Liverpool are the favourites to win the Premier League this season.

A report via SportWitness has claimed that Arsenal have requested talks with the agent of Viktor Gyokeres for a summer move. The Swede is currently one of the best strikers in the world and has been in sensational form for Sporting CP this season. Gyokeres has scored 28 goals in 25 matches so far in the Liga NOS 2024/2025 season. He has amassed a G/A of 33 so far this season. His goal involvement equates to 1.43 per 90 minutes. The striker’s non-penalty xG per 90 minutes is 0.82.

Arsenal are one of the best clubs in the Premier League and have made a massive transformation under Mikel Arteta. Gyokeres will want to play in the Premier League and take the next big step. He should know that if he moves to Arsenal, he will definitely be the first-choice player for the club and will have no direct competitor.

Sporting CP’s Swedish striker is a force of nature on the pitch. At 6’2”, his physicality dominates defenders, shrugging them off with ease while holding up play like a classic target man. But Gyokeres is no one-trick pony—his pace lets him sprint in behind, and his ball-striking is pristine, rifling shots with either foot. The Swede’s movement in the box is razor-sharp, sniffing out chances with a predator’s instinct. He is agile, too, turning defenders inside out, and his link-up play sparks attacks. Pressing with relentless energy, he’s a complete forward—strong, fast, and clinical—tearing apart defences with swagger and skill.

What does this mean for the Gunners?

Arsenal fans will be happy with the progress in talks with Gyokeres. The guy is a goal-scoring freak—28 in 25 Liga NOS games this season, with a ridiculous 1.43 goal involvement per 90. His 0.82 non-penalty xG shows he’s no fluke; he’s clinical and lethal. They have lacked a true No. 9 to bury chances, and Gyokeres—strong, fast, and razor-sharp in the box—fits the bill perfectly. Requesting talks with his agent is a bold move, and I’m all for it. If Arsenal snag him this summer, he could fire the club to the title. Arteta, make it happen!
